What are we building?
MAXDA Markets Group (‘MAXDA Group’) is an institutional grade, digital asset ecosystem designed to provide a safe regulated marketplace which permits the buying and selling of cryptocurrencies, security tokens and other digital assets. This ecosystem will initially include a UK MTF subject to regulatory approval by the FCA, followed by a SWISS OTF subject to regulatory approval by FINMA, then followed by 1 additional Asian based exchange. There will also be a guarantee fund (ensuring contract performance) and a digital custodian in Europe. A key feature will be access to third party digital asset marketplaces and custodians as well as access to fiat banking. This will differentiate MAXDA Group from other start-up digital asset exchanges and help secure significant additional cross border liquidity.
MAXDA Group will also look to acquire or obtain other regulated exchange licences or alternatively partner in key strategic locations such as the EU, USA, Middle East and Africa.

MAXDA Markets Limited (‘MAXDA’) has been incorporated as a UK company and has applied for an MTF license to the UK FCA. MAXDA will also partner with a Recognised Investment Exchange for listings.
MAXDA Markets Swiss Limited (‘MAXDA Swiss’) will be incorporated as a Swiss company and will apply for an OTF license to FINMA based on a detailed submission. MAXDA Swiss will partner with an existing Swiss licensed financial services entity to expedite this.
MAXDA Clearing (‘MAXDA Clearing’) will be a UK company with an integrated guarantee fund.
MAXDA Custodian (‘MAXDA Custodian’) will be incorporated in Europe and will apply for a license to operate a digital custodian.

MAXDA Markets Group Q&A
MAXDA Markets Group (‘MAXDA Group’), is an institutional grade, digital assets ecosystem designed to provide a safe regulated marketplace which permits the buying and selling of cryptocurrencies, security tokens and other digital assets in this new era of tokenisation.
Distributed Ledger Technology is revolutionising capital markets around the world, whereby investors’ expectations are being led towards stream-lined front-to-back exchange trading and settlement processes with intermediary reduction and real-time global 24/7 access. In the context of this paradigm shift from legacy to digital exchanges and post-trade, MAXDA Markets will be a game-changing enabler, granting access to a secure and regulated marketplace.
Providing access to digital products via the familiar secure and regulated channels, MAXDA’s approach highlights the paradigm shift from traditional to digital exchanges including post trade. In the current market, investors are expected to prefund digital activity with their inventory immobilised in a closed ecosystem of the exchanges choosing. MAXDA is unique in its facilitation of inventory mobility, within a familiar market structure as a key feature will be access to third party digital asset exchanges and custodians as well as access to fiat banking using a unique middleware layer.
MAXDA Markets will facilitate direct participation from global investors and traders of all types and will support free and easy movement of digital assets in and out of the market to fully regulated environments.
MAXDA will leverage its strong digital assets network and a senior industry team with a broad knowledge of financial markets infrastructure business and operations. This includes Hirander Misra, Co-Chairman, and Scott Riley, Chief Post Trade Officer, who were previously co-founders of Chi-X Europe and Tony Harrop, Director of Technology, who was formerly CTO at PLUS Markets Group (now NEX Exchange). Hirander, Tony and Scott have extensive experience in the blockchain and digital assets space having been involved in numerous successful projects.
The experienced Non-Executive Directors include Dr. Iain Saville, ‘father of CREST’ and a recognised expert in securities and settlement, who has been appointed as Chairman; Director John Holland, Chairman of KCG Europe and previously UBS Investment Bank board member, who is renowned for his deep experience in global broking and market making; and Director June Aitken, an experienced NED and ex HSBC and UBS senior executive, with a strong background in global equities and emerging markets.
